Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of GridIQ, including the public website, platform, energy planning tools, AI-assisted features, connected-device integrations, automations, subscriptions and support channels. By accessing or using GridIQ, you agree to these Terms.
Who these Terms apply to
These Terms apply to anyone who visits the GridIQ website, creates an account, starts a trial, subscribes to a paid plan, connects an energy account or device, uses the platform, or receives GridIQ outputs. If you use GridIQ for a household, company, site owner or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
What GridIQ provides
GridIQ helps users view, understand, forecast and optimise household energy activity across supported solar systems, batteries, EV chargers, meters, appliances, tariffs, grid connections and third-party services. GridIQ may provide dashboards, alerts, simulations, schedules, recommendations, automations and AI-assisted explanations based on available data.
Not professional advice
GridIQ is an energy information and optimisation service. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, GridIQ is not an electricity retailer, network operator, market operator, emergency service, licensed electrical contractor, financial adviser, legal adviser, tax adviser or engineering adviser. GridIQ outputs are not a substitute for professional advice, installer guidance, device manuals, retailer terms, network requirements or safety instructions.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your location, to create an account or use paid features. You must provide accurate account, contact, billing, household, tariff and device information and keep it current. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for activity under your account, except to the extent caused by GridIQ's breach of these Terms or applicable law.
Energy data and permissions
You authorise GridIQ to collect, receive, process, store, analyse, transmit and display data that you provide or connect to the service. This may include energy usage, generation, import, export, battery state, EV charging activity, meter data, tariff data, account information, weather inputs, device status, automation settings and related technical information.
Your authority to connect services
You confirm that you have all rights, consents and permissions needed to connect each account, site, meter, inverter, battery, charger, appliance, API, file or third-party service to GridIQ. You remain responsible for complying with agreements that apply to your energy retailer, distributor, installer, device manufacturer, data provider or other connected service.
AI outputs, forecasts and recommendations
GridIQ recommendations, forecasts, alerts, schedules, automations and AI outputs are generated from available data, model assumptions, user settings, third-party inputs and system constraints. They may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, unavailable or affected by weather, tariff changes, communications failures, source-data errors, device faults or user configuration.
User responsibility for decisions
You are responsible for reviewing GridIQ outputs before relying on them. GridIQ does not guarantee energy savings, bill reductions, export revenue, carbon reductions, uninterrupted service, device performance, market outcomes, regulatory compliance or any particular operational result.
Automation and connected devices
If you enable automation, scheduling or remote-control features, you authorise GridIQ to send commands, schedules, settings or instructions to supported connected devices according to your configuration and the data available to GridIQ. You remain responsible for ensuring connected devices are installed, maintained, configured and operated safely and lawfully.
Safety-critical use
Do not use GridIQ where failure, delay or incorrect operation could cause injury, property damage, loss of essential power, grid-safety risk, breach of law or other safety-critical impact. You should maintain appropriate manual overrides, device safeguards and household safety procedures.
Third-party services
GridIQ may integrate with or rely on third-party hardware, software, APIs, data providers, hosting providers, payment processors, analytics tools, AI providers, weather services, authentication providers, electricity retailers, network services and device manufacturers. Third-party services are not controlled by GridIQ and may be subject to separate terms, fees, limits, outages, data practices and support arrangements.
Plans, trials and payments
Some GridIQ features may be free, trial-based, subscription-based, usage-based or subject to a separate order or written agreement. Prices, inclusions, usage limits, billing periods, renewal terms, taxes and cancellation rights will be shown at sign-up, in the platform, at checkout or in the relevant order. Unless stated otherwise at purchase or required by law, paid plans renew automatically until cancelled.
Acceptable use
You must not use GridIQ unlawfully, deceptively or in a way that harms others; connect accounts, sites, devices, APIs or data without authority; interfere with, overload, probe, scrape, crawl or disrupt GridIQ; bypass access controls, usage limits, security measures or billing systems; reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code, models or non-public APIs; upload malicious code; resell, sublicense or redistribute GridIQ without permission; or use GridIQ as the sole basis for safety-critical, emergency, regulated, trading or investment decisions.
Intellectual property
GridIQ and its software, interfaces, models, workflows, designs, documentation, content, branding and other materials are owned by GridIQ or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, GridIQ grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use GridIQ for your personal or internal household energy-management purposes.
Privacy and security
GridIQ may process personal information and household energy data as described in the Privacy Statement and any feature-specific notices. GridIQ uses reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the service and the data it processes. No internet-connected service, model, API or device integration can be guaranteed to be completely secure, error-free or continuously available.
Changes, suspension and termination
GridIQ may update, improve, restrict, suspend or discontinue any part of the service from time to time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create legal, security, operational, payment or safety risk, or if continued access would expose GridIQ or others to unacceptable risk. We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page and taking reasonable steps to notify users of material changes.
Australian Consumer Law and non-excludable rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory warranty, liability, right or remedy that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law. Where GridIQ is permitted to limit liability for a failure to comply with a non-excludable guarantee or obligation, GridIQ's liability is limited, at its option, to resupplying the relevant services or paying the cost of resupplying those services.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GridIQ is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. GridIQ does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, complete, current or suitable for your particular purpose. GridIQ disclaims all warranties, representations and conditions not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability and accuracy.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GridIQ is not liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental, exemplary or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, savings, production, goodwill, data, business opportunity, market opportunity, export value or energy market value. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GridIQ's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to GridIQ for the service giving rise to the claim in the three months before the event giving rise to liability and AUD 100.
Indemnity
You indemnify GridIQ and its personnel against claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of GridIQ, unauthorised connection of data or devices, infringement of third-party rights or violation of law, except to the extent caused by GridIQ's breach of these Terms or unlawful conduct.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia and, to the extent applicable, the laws of the Australian state or territory in which the GridIQ operator is established. Australian courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or GridIQ. Before starting formal proceedings, each party must use reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute in good faith, unless urgent injunctive relief is required or the dispute cannot lawfully be delayed.
